Chocolate Recipe ” Thanks for the Memories

Have you been trying to find just the right present to give to a family member or friend, but just have not been able to find one that suits both your wallet and the sentiment that you want to portray. I have always loved giving away presents that are straight from the heart. The person who receives these gifts always pleased by the fact that so much thought has gone into it. Not only that, but in today’s financially difficult climate we can all benefit from finding more inexpensive ways of gift giving.

Not long ago I was perplexed, trying to find a thought filled yet cost effective gift to give to a friend. It seemed that everything that fit my pocketbook just did not seem to quit to depict the feeling of close friendship that we shared. Then one day when looking through my chocolate recipe collection I thought of a plan to make a gift from my heart, a distinctive recipe box.

As a hobby chef recipes have constantly captivated me. Each and every one of them had a beginning. They were dreamt up by somebody. Was it a World War II war bride developing a special cake to commemorate the return of her husband from war? Or was it a recipe concocted by a busy mom trying to feed her family a healthy meal? Think about your favorite recipe. Do you know where it came from?

A frequent premise in my family seems to be the chocolate recipe. So when I was looking for a unforgettable present I decided to organize a chocolate recipe compilation and fashion it into a remembrance box. My friend later told me that through the years she has been admired by every person who had seen it. Also, she confided in me that as a result of the thought that went into it, this was one the most loved gifts that she has received.

In putting this box together I included my favorite recipes, photos from a birthday party (sporting a chocolate birthday cake of course), and several containers filled with all the fixings for a few of my recipes. I had a lot of fun decorating the outer surface of the box. First I pasted a variety of recipes on the outside of the box, a few on each side, and my favorite chocolate recipe on top. Then I includedpictures of delicious deserts to fill in the rest of the space and covered it with decoupage. When I got such an excited response about this gift I set my mind to finding other creative present ideas. Since that time Ive made recipe scrapbooks, spiral bound cookbooks, and several assortments of recipe in a jar.

Time and again families have recipes that have become an integral part of their family history, passing down recipes and the tales revolving around them for many years. Others are now just beginning to develop family traditions.

Whichever way, getting a gift specially made by you, with all of the consideration and love that went into it will certainly be a big hit. I like making boxes using my best chocolate recipe collections, however for those of you that are not as enthralled with chocolate as my family is you will get fantastic results using any of your favorite recipe collection.

Whether you are making this gift for a friend, relative, or a co-worker, without a doubt it will be very well received.
