Original Winter Time Drinks

In the dark days of winter, we pile on layers of extra clothes and turn up the fire in an attempt to banish the cold. We are warm on the outside, but why should our insides do without? They deserve to be warmed up too!

The perfect thing to remedy this is a hot drink, made up of your favourite ingredients; they are delicious, warm and also satisfying. Here are a few may like to try that are both tasty and warming.

To kick off we have the classic hot chocolate, add whipped cream and marshmallows if you want extra sweetness. This is a versatile beverage and there are a few ways to enjoy it.

Peppermint, on the other hand, really gives a lovely, minty flavor to the chocolate. This can be doing a few drops of essence, or even a candy cane. If you are a fan of minted chocolate you will love this.

Why not try hot chocolate the way it should be made, and not the pale imitations that come from instant powders. Melt a bar of chocolate by pouring hot milk over it and then just stir until the chocolate is fully dissolved. If you are used to using powder, you’ll be amazed at the difference in the taste.

If you fancy something a bit different as your hot winter drink, why not try something fruity? An apple drink such as Cider is both warming and delicious; add a few spices for extra warmth.

Hot Cider could just be the drink that you’re looking for. Add some spices to give it a kick, or sweeten it up by adding something like Caramel.

Give your coffee a kick by adding some Nutella, making an interesting take on nutty coffee. Coffee, Nutella and Chocolate may not sound like a dream combination, but your will be surprised with the result.
